McKenna, as he was recently selected to receive an Individual Award of Excellence for his contributions as a Guardian ad Litem by the Board of Trustees for the Legal Aid Society of the Orange County Bar Association. Ken’s hard work and commitment to service as a GAL have allowed him to help over 38 children in need. In response to receiving this award, Ken told the Legal Aid Society, “The Guardian Ad Litem program has provided me a unique opportunity to be a voice for children. While it is sad to see many children in truly horrible situations, it is rewarding to see families making positive changes to facilitate reunification. It is also quite rewarding to serve as a GAL in cases resulting in adoption as these cases truly represent the system at its very best. It is an honor to have the chance to step forward and make a difference in the lives of children.”
